YOUR EYES

Your eyes
reflecting
as ponds
pondering.
The lake sleeps
deep in our minds.
A woman always guards
and so does the foetus
amid's primal molecules.
Are what we give birth to
the keepers of our mysteries?
Indigo, and some jade
with specks of gold -
nature loves
like we love -
yet without conscience
yet with wisdom.
Your eyes reflect
what I love.
A woman sleeps -
she dreams of being awake -
such is nature.
Your eyes -
primal matter
in which to swim
and encounter anew
the womb of our mysteries.
Your eyes -
pond, lake and ocean.
I spill
so we engender again
the mystery within.
The eyes see. Do they?
They reflect what they procreate.
Look at me looking at you.
And when our eyes close
it is to better see.
Your are close
then close your eyes.
You are far
then open your eyes

Poet Ma Li speaks this poem (put speakers on).
