SCHOOL OF EMPATHY
Appreciate this bond
as a project of art,
from where each instant
shapes a new framing
of intent and care.
Relating is learning
and evolving
and shaping.
It is growth –
a jungle, or icebergs
roaming, floating.
At school we should learn
how to walk together
and how to stop together.
We should practice
the games of discovery
and of disappointment.
We should celebrate
a unique day,
special for each of us,
and learn how to cry
the anguish of our neighbour.
When one of us succeeds
all of us should benefit.
When one of us is to fail,
all of us should bear the weight.
But for this we first need to learn
to be free of obligation
and instead discover joy
in our mutual reliability.
Our bodies are unchained
so that you and I
can each other embrace. |
