WINDOWS ACHE

Windows ache yes,
They also cry,
and freeze
as well as crack.
They sometimes stubbornly remain closed,
or become restless.

Other times windows glimmer.
There is a knock on the pane –
bees and squirrels become curious,
as well as the house cat -
but from the other side -
always.

And then some days
one wonders -
who opened those windows?
The night enters –
indoors is now darker than sky -
since the lights from within
have turned into stars.
